Emerald Downs is the Thoroughbred racetrack located south of Seattle in Auburn, Washington.

Emerald Downs first opened its doors to race fans on June 20, 1996, with the inaugural 100-day meet running through November 4. It replaced Longacres Racetrack, which closed in September 1992 after sixty seasons of racing.

No outside food or beverages permitted with the exception of a sealed 32 oz bottle of water or smaller per person. ADULT TICKET PRICES: $10 per person includes general admission and a Race Day Program. Emerald Rewards Players can have their card swiped for 100 points for admission.

Seating on the 5th floor is particularly good. As other reviewers have mentioned, the view of Mount Rainier is lovely.

The track conducts several large ungraded stakes and many overnight handicaps and stakes. There are an average of 8 races on week nights, and 10 races per race weekend. Emerald Downs biggest race is the Longacres Mile Handicap, a Grade III event, held in August.

Ladies - General Admission

There is no formal dress code in General Admission but we recommend smart dress befitting of a raceday occasion. All general admission dining rooms and function venues require smart casual attire.

“The races dress codes are steeped in tradition – this is not the time to wear a strapless dresses, cut outs or mini dresses (save those for parties) so ensure that you are well versed on the formalities of the Carnival dress codes,” she says.
