Their... fine. Their also $10 every other week so spending $50 to get one is meh unless you were buying something anyway.

Nope. Their accuracy is OK, but their consistency isn't great and tons of people, including me, have had them fail to click or click noticeably when the set torque is reached.

I have used a few brands of this style torque wrench and they all tend to go weak Knee'd on the clicking if you are on a lower setting of the range but at higher settings, they are decent and easier to detect the click. For example, say the 3/8 5-80ft-lb - if set at 10 the click will be very weak or almost impossible to detect but at 70 much better. Sort of the nature of these. I tend to set them lower for the first pass then creep up on the end value so I am not missing the click. Some say to set them to the high value then to the low value to "prime" the click. For lug nuts in general, they work pretty great, for lighter stuff not so great. The HF handles are also kind of short IMO. But in general, I have had very good luck with them. I also run them backwards always before running them forward which tends to help the click. But I agree they can be difficult to detect.

You also do get a lifetime warranty on it, so free tool forever. Same with the 10mm essential set.

These wrenches aren't for precision, but for lug nuts its fine.

Throw-away tools. But those have a purpose as well.

For the torque wrenches is it better to have a larger drive or smaller drive? I see the 1/4 inch drive has a range of 20-200 ft. lb. while the 1/2 inch drive has a range of 10-150 ft./lb.

The 1/4" drive is in inch-pounds. What are the torque specifications for the things you need to use this on? Get a wrench with a range that covers that, keeping in mind that the low end of a torque wrench's range is often not very accurate.

They are garbage. I have over torqued a hand full of times( and I have all 3) and it just is simply not worth the stress and extra work that comes with doing that.

I spent just $50-60 more on one of their icon torque wrenches , gives much more peace of mind

I find them to be fine but the clicks are really quiet.

Really? Project Farm, who is a super reputable product-reviewing YouTube channel disagrees and puts the Harbor Freight torque wrenches almost at Snap-On level.

I've had all 3 of the HF torque wrenches for years and used several times with no issues. They are not going to be quite as accurate as some higher end brands but for 90% of what most people will use them for they are just fine. If you happen to be replacing a head gasket, then yeah, invest in a higher quality tool. I haven't really had issues with the click not being audible, but I'm sure lot depends on timing of when they were made, like most things. There are going to be winners and duds in every batch. Fact that you are even bothering to torque already puts you ahead of most folks. Can't tell you how many shade tree mechanics and even some professional ones I've seen who just crank until it "feels right".

I haven't really had issues with the click not being audible, but I'm sure lot depends on timing of when they were made, like most things. There are going to be winners and duds in every batch.
