Bubble Tea is actually easy to make at home. I have the simple step by step instructions for you on how to make Fruit Bubble Tea. Enjoy! While this post is sponsored by Florida Dairy Farmers, all opinions and my love of dairy are my own.

How To Make Fruit Bubble Tea

Bubble Tea is a popular drink that has actually been around for awhile but has been increasing in popularity. My daughter asked me for Bubble Tea about a year ago when we were at Armature Works here in Tampa and I will admit, I had never heard of Bubble Tea before that moment. The idea of having chewy “bubbles” in my drink sounded a bit strange to me, but once I tried it, I decided it was actually pretty fun to drink. I can definitely see why Bubble Tea is so popular.

There are several ways to prepare Bubble Tea, one of course is with tea, another way is with fruit and milk. Anyway I can get more fruit and the nine essential nutrients from milk into the kids’ diet (and mine) I am all for it. Plus, Bubble Tea is super easy to make. I mean, super easy. You can have a glass of Fruit Bubble Tea ready in just a few minutes after you prepare your Boba.

What is Boba?

Boba, also known as Black Tapioca Pearls, is made from tapioca, which is a gluten-free refined starch from the root of a cassava plant. Once prepared they are a little chewy black “pearl”-sized ball in your Bubble tea.

Where Do You Get Boba?

You can find Boba at an Asian grocer or online. I got ours on Amazon. I bought a 6 lb bag and we shared it with some of our friends who also love Bubble Tea.

How Do You Prepare Boba?

I have seen several different preparation techniques on the internet, but I followed the instructions on the Boba package and it worked perfectly. Our Boba was ready in about 15 minutes. I have seen some recipes requiring up to an hour or more.

What Does Boba Taste Like?

Not much really. Some roll it in sugar or honey for added flavor, but as ours sat in the Fruit Bubble Teas they started to take on the flavor of the Bubble Tea.

We made three different Fruit Bubble Teas: Strawberry Bubble Tea, Blueberry Bubble Tea and Mango Bubble Tea.

Here’s the Ingredients we used to make our Fruit Bubble Teas:

Strawberry Bubble Tea Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
Ice – if using fresh fruit I recommend using 4-5 ice cubes to give your Bubble Tea a nice thicker consistency. Save buying your strawberries or honey from Publix weekly ad.
Prepared Boba (Black tapioca Pearls)

Mango Bubble Tea Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen mango
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
Ice – if using fresh fruit I recommend using 4-5 ice cubes to give your Bubble Tea a nice thicker consistency.
Prepared Boba (Black tapioca Pearls)

Blueberry Bubble Tea Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
Ice – if using fresh fruit I recommend using 4-5 ice cubes to give your Bubble Tea a nice thicker consistency.

Easy enough, right?

Next on our Bubble Tea menu is Peach Bubble Tea. Florida peaches are in season right now so I have a bunch in the refrigerator ready to use.

To prepare your Fruit Bubble Tea you simply blend everything together, except the Boba, and pour your delicious fruit milk mixture into your favorite glass that has the prepared Boba in it. I just used my Ninja Nutri with Auto IQ to blend our Fruit Bubble Teas, it’s great for single use, so we were able to make our three different varieties without having to clean out a big blender each time.

Be sure to have a wide straw so that you can get those fun chewy tapioca pearls out of your Fruit Bubble Tea.
